I wanted to shoot a wedding at Parish’s House ever since I moved to Bristol.
Parish’s House is a hidden gem. A stunning and exclusive garden and parkland near Bath. A place that offers you a blank canvas to put together your dream wedding.
Holly and Luke decided to have their wedding at Parish’s House because they fell in love with the beautiful views of the Somerset Hills and also because it allowed them flexibility to really put their stamp on every aspect of the day. I was honoured to be a part of a lovely line up of suppliers (I will make sure to add all their links at the end!). I first met the lovely couple at their pre-wedding shoot which also took place at Parish’s House. It was a great opportunity for me to understand what their day will look like and most importantly to get a feel of what’s important to the them. One thing became clear from the start : their wedding is going to be FUN!
The morning of a wedding day is always so important. It really sets the tone and it’s important to kick off with good vibes. There was so much excitement in the air. Luke got ready with his two best men and his ushers at a beautiful airbnb very close to Parish’s House while Holly and her gorgeous bridal party took full advantage of the cottage on the grounds of the venue.
It was one of the hottest days of the year and the sun was shinning. The girls cottage was so calm. It was obvious that these girls were best friends and they they were all over the moon to see Holly in her dress, ready to walk down the isle.
Holly and Luke chose to have their ceremony at the local church, only a short walk away from Parish’s House. It was a beautiful service filled with tears of joy and lots of laughter.
Vintage Marquees provided the most beautiful set up for the drinks reception and wedding breakfast.
Holly and Luke arrived back in style in a stunning vintage car and everyone knew it was time to party! Lots of hugs and congratulations, group photos, couple portraits, you know all the beautiful wedding stuff.
I think the speeches deserve their own paragraph in this blog post. They were so full of emotions! Funny. Honest. So heartfelt. I absolutely love it when brides stand up to say a few words and Holly has made half of her family cry.
Escaping your wedding day for a few minutes is so important. Having a few moments with just your new husband or wife will allow you to wind down and breath before returning to your friends and family. Don’t skip this part of the day!
Parish’s House offers a couple of separate areas of their stunning grounds. So Holly and Luke decided to set up a separate evening marquee for the cake cutting, dancing and all the evening fun!
I absolutely love a good dance floor! I love music, I love dancing and I most certainly love to watch people dance! And let me tell you, this lot had some moves! I will just have to let the images do the talking here.
Photographing weddings means a lot to me. It’s the work that I chose to do because I genuinely believe it’s important. Having these memories of one of the best days of your life is priceless. Perhaps it doesn’t seem that way today, but it will in years to come. If like me, you believe in the importance of preserving memories, we are on the same page. Even better if you are planning a wedding and looking for a photographer. You know where to find me!
I can’t possibly end this post without the biggest shout out to the fabulous suppliers Holly and Luke have chosen! You all made their day so special!
