I always thought that if you want to take good photos, you need lots and lots of lenses and a fancy camera. This was until I became a part of the BEST community of photographers EVER . The Unraveled Academy ( check them out here! ) has changed my perspective on what a good photo looks like. If it makes you feel something, always keep it! So what if you missed the focus a little, or you have underexposed or did’t frame your subject ‘by the book’? Do you look at your image and smile ? That’s what it’s all about !

It’s not the gear you use, it’s what you do with it that really matters !

My first ever DSLD was the Nikon D5000. I bought it while I was a student back in 2010. And up until last week that’s the only camera (apart from a film canon T90) that I have ever used ! Since UNRAVELED , my 35mm f1.8 lens never left my camera !

I said last week because, well, last week I have decided to bite the bullet and go FULL FRAME ! I almost can’t take myself seriously anymore with a crop sensor camera!

SO the Nikon D750 is my new baby (but that doesn’t mean that I won’t rock my D5000 from time to time !) . Also I have switched to a 50mm f1.4 lens and on my wish list is a Sigma 35mm f1.4. Once I have that, I can say hand on heart that I will NOT need anything else in my kit bag! (At least for a while).

What works for me, might not work for others, but I strongly believe in keeping things simple and relying on your creativity instead of your gear is what’s gonna really pay off ! (of course,  more advanced gear will give you more freedom to put your creativity into practice, but if you have a slightly older camera, you are still a superstar and you can still create beautiful work! )
