This festival vibe wedding from last year was by far the most vibrant, colourful and fun wedding of the season. The minute I met Elena and Richard, I knew they are one of a kind. Although my own wedding was obviously pretty special to me, if I could get a do-over, this is exactly what I would like my day to look like. Outdoors, super chilled, lots of DIY, fun suppliers, gorgeous food and silly games!
I talk a lot about the morning of your wedding day. It’s a really important part of the story that I aim to tell. Getting ready for one of the biggest moments of your life is very special. And it should be done your way! Elena was surrounded by her friends and sister and there was this sense of calmness in the air. Maya Lewis quietly worked her magic, the girls were chatting, enjoying some champagne and keeping everything super chilled.
Only a few miles away at Penn Meadow Farm, an equally chilled vibe. Richard and his brothers and parents were putting on the finishing touches on the beautiful DIY set up they have worked on for a while.
Having a ceremony outdoors can be stressful. But in my experience, things always work out one way or another. If you set your heart of a festival vibe wedding, you simply HAVE to have an outdoors ceremony. There is no other way. Although we had some pouring rain later in the day, it stayed dry when it mattered. And the cloudy skies added a little drama, which I absolutely love!
Being outdoors, puts people in a good mood! Sunshine, fresh air and add a little booze and you have a party! Elena and Richard did all the traditional wedding bits : speeches, photos, first dance, but with a pinch of cool!
Did you ever leave a festival because of a little rain? I don’t think so! You just embrace the elements and have the best time of your life. Elena had organised an amazing afternoon entertainment : A glitter bar that everyone absolutely loved!
I feel like words are almost unnecessary here. Documenting Elena and Richards big and cool wedding was an absolute honour. It was so much fun and I think the images speak for themselves.
